Diplomas and Transcripts

Diplomas

If you need a replacement diploma, complete the Duplicate Diploma Ordering form and return it to the Registrar's Office. 

  • There is a $12 processing fee
  • Diplomas take six to eight weeks to arrive

Transcripts

Unofficial Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts can be accessed in the self-service portion of Banner (you must know your Banner number). This type of transcript is an informal listing of your academic history. Transcripts are listed under the student records section of Banner.

There is no fee for viewing or printing out your unofficial transcript.

Official Transcripts
Official transcript copies must be ordered by completing the transcript ordering form, the cost is $9 per request.

Parking Permits (while auditing classes at Buffalo State)

Alumni may receive a discounted parking pass (for student lots) while you are auditing a class and have an Alumni ID card.

  • You must have an Alumni ID card. 
  • Apply for Your Alumni ID Card
  • Once you receive your card, you can apply for a pass at Moot Hall.
  • Your card will be verified, and you will need to supply your vehicle's info (licenses, car make/model)
  • You will receive a parking pass at a discounted rate for $6.52.

Parking Permit (not registered for classes)
With your alumni ID card, a reduced rate permit is available to alumni not registered for classes. Purchase your permit at the Campus Parking Services Office in Moot Hall. 

Parking Permits

Alumni may audit courses without earning credit, with the approval of the department chair and the instructor of the course. The auditor's role beyond attending class, such as completing assignments, receiving instructor feedback and taking exams should be agreed upon with the instructor. 

  • A person auditing a course will not receive a grade or earn credit for the course. 
  • Tuition is not charged
  • Course auditors may be expected to purchase textbooks and supplies necessary to participate in the class (e.g., art supplies).  
  • All students are required to complete the Official Permission to Audit a Course form and return it to the Registrar's Office.
  • Course offerings can be found on Buffalo State's website. 
  • For the faculty member’s contact information check with the department, Buffalo State's online directory, or contact the Alumni Office for assistance.
  • Discounted parking passes are available for alumni auditing a class on campus. Learn about parking permits.

Computer Use

Alumni are welcome to bring a laptop and access the library's guest wi-fi. Privileges are not extended to printing, scanning, and computer  use.

Borrowing Privileges

Graduates of Buffalo State are eligible to join the Friends of the E.H. Butler Library at no cost in order to receive library borrowing privileges.

Online Library Databases

Alumni can access two databases - EBSCOhost’s Academic Search: Alumni Edition and Business Source: Alumni Edition. Buffalo State currently has active subscriptions to these resources. 

NOTE: You must enter your Banner ID in the “Patron ID” field in order to log into both databases.

Student Loan Assistance from NLS
Learn how to prepare for payment resumption in October, enroll in a payment plan, get out of default to prevent garnishments and offsets, and reach loan forgiveness with Neighborhood Legal Services. Our program will help you determine the best repayment options, discover opportunities for discharge, and benefit from recent changes from the Department of Education. We also provide free, unbiased, one-on-one counseling to address your unique challenges to repayment.

Neighborhood Legal Services
Neighborhood Legal Services Inc. is part of the Education Debt Consumer Assistance Program (EDCAP) Network. EDCAP is a program of the Community Service Society of New York.

It assists New York borrowers in Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee and Wyoming Counties, navigate the student loan repayment system and maintain their financial health. All services are free, confidential and unbiased.
